Coventry City midfielder Carl Baker has called for caretaker-manager Andy Thorn to get the job on a full-time basis.

The Sky Blues, who beat Millwall 2-1 on Saturday, have picked up 11 points from six games under Thorn.

"I hope he gets the job permanently to be honest because I think he's a really good manager to play for," Baker told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire.

"I think the lads have responded to him. He gives you a bit of trust and lets you get on with it."

The 28-year-old returned to City's starting line-up for Saturday's 2-1 win over the Lions, playing behind the strikers at the tip of a midfield diamond.

And Baker is glad Thorn has been tinkering with the Sky Blues' tactics since Aidy Boothroyd's departure last month.

"There are a couple of little things that he's changed. Nothing major, but things that make the players happy," he added.

"He won't have any messing about but he wants us to get the ball down and play it the right way.

"He's just getting the best out of players individually because every player who's at the club now Thorny's brought in so obviously he thinks a lot of us.

"Just knowing that you've got a manager who rates you highly gives you a massive confidence boost."
