Kennett led Bees to a fine opening win at Brandon

Coventry Bees began the defence of their Elite League title with an impressive 56-38 victory over neighbours Birmingham Brummies.

Eddie Kennett put in a captain's performance with a maximum 15-point haul, his first for Coventry.

Przemyslaw Pawlicki also weighed in with double figures for the home side at Brandon.

Krzysztof Kasprzak failed to win a race on his return to his old stomping ground as Brummies went home pointless.
