Ray Ranson set to resign as Coventry City chairman
Ranson saved Coventry from administration in 2007
Ray Ranson is set to resign from his position as Coventry City chairman, BBC Coventry & Warwickshire understands.
A club statement is expected on Thursday afternoon but it is believed Ranson will step down following a turbulent few months in the boardroom.
The former Manchester City and Birmingham player saved the club from administration in December 2007.
Ranson had only committed himself to the Sky Blues in February when vice-chairman Gary Hoffman left the club.
In January, local businessman John Clarke was appointed as a full director, with Joe Elliot stepping down from the board to take up the ambassadorial role of life president.
