Coventry City have signed defender Richard Wood on loan from Sheffield Wednesday, with a view to making the move permanent in January.
The 24-year-old is expected to sign a three-year contract with the Sky Blues in the new year after the clubs agreed a deal worth around £500,000.
Wood had been on the transfer list at Hillsborough after rejecting the offer of a new contract.
Coventry boss Chris Coleman said Wood had been a "long-term target".
Owls boss Brian Laws has confirmed that he would like to use the proceeds of any player sales to bring in a new striker.
