Coventry City full-back Stephen Wright has been named as the club captain ahead of the new season.
Sky Blues manager Chris Coleman had remained tight-lipped over who would wear the armband, following former skipper Scott Dann's departure.
Coleman told the club website: "He is a level-headed individual, calm, solid defender who a lot of the younger lads look up to and can learn from."
Wright, 29, only managed 21 appearances for City last term because of injuries.
The defender signed a two-year contract with the club last year after arriving on a free transfer.
