Coleman not prepared to spend big

Chris Coleman
Coleman is continuing to search for defensive reinforcement

Coventry City boss Chris Coleman is not willing to spend inflated fees on new players despite being short in defence.

Ben Turner and Danny Fox are the only fit defenders, which means 17-year-old Curtis Wynter will make his league debut against Blackpool on Saturday.

"It is a emergency but we are not paying 15,000 to 20,000 a week to a loan player," Coleman told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire.

The Welshman admits that he has tried to bring in some new faces.

"Two of the guys, that maybe we could get, have not played for two months. They have not even played reserve-team football and we have another day so maybe something might happen."
