Coventry City captain Stephen Hughes will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of June.

The 31-year-old midfielder made 144 appearances since joining in 2004 and scored eight goals.

Sky Blues chairman Ray Ranson told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: "We wish Stephen well.

"He's been a good servant to the football club. He was a senior player and was very influential in the dressing room."

Coventry have a ready-made replacement in the form of midfielder Guillaume Beuzelin who was signed from Scottish Premier League outfit Hibernian earlier this month.
