Coventry City midfielder Kevin Thornton is revelling in his central midfield role, according to Jay Tabb.

Tabb scored the winner for the Sky Blues against Norwich on Saturday but was quick to praise the effort of his fellow midfielder.

"I think this is the longest run he's had in the team," he told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire.

"It's good for him. Obviously a new manager coming in is a new start for him and he's taken his chance."

Thornton has been an ever-present in the side since coming on as a substitute in last month's victory over Leicester at the Ricoh Arena, which was manager Chris Coleman's first match in charge.
