Geraint Williams insists Colchester have not approached Dagenham & Redbridge about Shane Blackett. The defender has been linked with Crystal Palace and other league clubs.
U's boss Williams told BBC Essex: "I'm sure Shane is a fine young player but I don't know where this has come from. We've had no contact with Dagenham.
"At this time of year with the transfer window about to open there are a lot of names mentioned, but there's nothing happening at the moment."
