Dagenham & Redbridge defender Shane Blackett has been told he does not require surgery to repair a knee injury sustained in pre-season. A scan showed that he had sustained medial ligament damage which should clear up with further rest.
Blackett told the Ilford Recorder: "It was a relief to hear that the knee was not as bad as I thought it would be."
Blackett has started over 50 Conference games for the side since joining the Daggers from Arlesey in May 2004.
