Chesterfield defender Gregor Robertson will be out of action for up to six months after suffering a double leg fracture against Carlisle.
The 25-year-old was stretchered off during Tuesday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie at Saltergate and has now undergone surgery.
Spireites assistant boss Tommy Wright told Radio Sheffield: "It's a big disappointment. He's done well.
"We will give him all the help he needs to get back on the football field."
