Chesterfield manager Lee Richardson is hoping that the FA will be lenient with Lloyd Kerry's punishment after his sending off at the weekend.
Midfielder Kerry was given a straight red for punching opponent Ben Strevens, but Richardson is counting on video evidence to help his case.
"I hope the video shows it all. If all you see is (Lloyd) Kerry's punch that will compound it," said Richardson.
"I don't think there are many people that wouldn't have reacted."
Chesterfield lost 3-0 to Dagenham and Redbridge, also having defender Robert Page sent off.
