Shaw spent just over a year in Chesterfield's colours |
Forward Paul Shaw has left Chesterfield by mutual agreement because of limited first-team opportunities. The 33-year-old former Arsenal trainee has scored four goals in 30 league appearances since moving to Saltergate from Rotherham last summer.
"I fully understand the situation," Shaw told the club's website.
"I am disappointed I didn't fulfil what I wanted to achieve at Chesterfield, but I wish the club well and am looking forward to progressing elsewhere."
Shaw has scored 80 league goals in 374 appearances for Arsenal, Burnley, Cardiff, Peterborough, Millwall, Gillingham, Sheffield United, Rotherham and Chesterfield.
However, he has not featured for the Spireites this summer, following the arrival of strikers Steve Fletcher and Jack Lester.
