Chester City have agreed to sign Rochdale goalkeeper James Spencer on a week-to-week loan basis to replace injured keeper John Danby.
Spencer's transfer should be approved after Chester were given special dispensation by the Football League to sign a replacement for Danby.
Spencer, 24, is set to play in City's final five games as they fight against relegation from League Two.
Danby, sustained shoulder injury in City's 2-1 win at Notts County.
