Wright saw six players leave the club on transfer deadline day
Chester manager Mark Wright says he will not give up on the club as he attempts to turn their fortunes around.
City have a threadbare squad of players and were defeated 3-0 at Brentford on Saturday to push them closer to the League Two drop zone.
"I've never been one to wilt and surrender to anything or to anybody and I'm not going to start now," Wright told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"We've got to live in hope we can bring four or five players in."
He added: "If we can, there are players out there if we can get some loan signings. If we can do that then we'll be a better side.
"It's a matter of if we can and if we are allowed to bring them in. At this moment in time the answer to that is no.
"It's very difficult and it's going to be a very long season."
Wright was left ruing his luck as his side conceded three goals without reply and the City manager was far from happy with the manner his side went behind.
"They've scored three goals and not created one in my opinion," said Wright.
"If they had have got down the wing and crossed it and a big centre forward heads a goal then you take it on the chin. It's hard to take when people haven't created chances.
"Don't get me wrong, they had chances during the game and they put some good balls into the box. But they didn't finish any of them.
"It was from basic errors from a side that is feeling very sorry for themselves that they got the goals."
