Lowe not fazed by transfer talk

Chester City top scorer Ryan Lowe is not fazed by the rumours linking him with a January move.

The 30-year-old striker has been in impressive form this term grabbing 12 goals, although he admits it is nothing new to be linked with a move.

"I haven't been surprised to hear a few League One clubs showing an interest," Lowe told the Chester Evening Leader.

"Any player in League Two who scores 10 goals or more usually gets linked with clubs from higher divisions."

But, despite being linked with moves away (including a return to Gresty Road), the former Crewe man insists his future is with Chester.

"I'm a Chester City player," said Lowe, who returns to another of his former clubs Shrewsbury Town this Saturday. "And I don't let the rumours affect me.

I'm thoroughly enjoying my second spell at the club

"I just want to keep playing well for Chester and I'm thoroughly enjoying my second spell at the club."

"I know a lot has been said about Kevin Ellison and me playing out of position as strikers this season. But I honestly don't mind where I play and the decision to play me as a forward has certainly been paying off so far."

Another player linked with a move away from the Deva is forward Eddie Johnson, despite only joining the club in October.

Former Manchester United trainee Johnson, 24, is now reported to be be wanted by American club Austin Aztecs.

Meanwhile, young City centre-half Kristian Platt is rumoured to be attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs.

The 16-year-old has been been watched by many scouts and has already had a trial at Manchester United.
