Wright saw his new charges beaten 2-1 by Morecambe on Saturday
Chester City owner Stephen Vaughan has said he is looking forward to a "very interesting" season after reappointing Mark Wright as manager.
Wright, 45, has returned for a third spell as City manager following the dismissal of Simon Davies last week.
Steve Bleasdale is also back at the League Two club as assistant to Wright.
And Vaughan told BBC Radio Merseyside: "I look forward to a very interesting season. I believe Mark and Steve will drag us straight up that table."
The last time the two men worked together at Chester they won promotion from the Conference, bringing back league football to the city after a four-year absence. And Vaughan is confident that the duo can be successful again.
"I've brought them in to instil a bit of passion, a bit of self belief and certainly a bit of discipline into this side."
Vaughan added that, despite City's recent poor run of results (they had won just once in 11 games, a run extended to 12 by Saturday's home defeat to Morecambe), it was still a difficult decision to dispense with Davies.
"Simon is a lovely man," said Vaughan. "He had good ideas and he's got a good bunch of lads out there.
"Technically, he had the best side we've had in years but this is about organisation and discipline and handling senior professionals.
"Simon will come again and I would like to thank him for his efforts."
