Chester City have turned down an approach from an unnamed Championship club to take midfielder Damien Mozika on loan.
The 21-year-old has been an ever-present for City this season after arriving from AS Nancy in the summer.
But City owner Stephen Vaughn told BBC Radio Merseyside the club do not want to lose the Frenchman.
"We want Damien to be part of our immediate future, we aren't interested in a loan arrangement."
Vaughn added: "Thankfully the player's agent agrees with us, that a temporary move at this time wouldn't suit either the player or us."
Meanwhile, Wayne Allison has been installed as assistant manager to Simon Davies on a permanent basis.
City are unbeaten in the two games they have played since the former Tranmere Rovers striker arrived at the club from Chesterfield.
