Relegation-threatened Chester City boss Simon Davies is confident that his side will maintain their League Two status.

Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Wycombe means City have picked up just nine points in 23 games since Christmas, leaving them just two points above the drop zone.

But Davies told BBC Radio Merseyside: "Our future is in our hands and, if we continue to play the way we have, things will come right."

City's last away game is at border rivals Shrewsbury on Saturday.

They then finish with two home games, the rearranged date with Stockport County next Tuesday night (29 April) before the final-day meeting with Cheshire rivals Macclesfield Town the following Saturday (3 May).

Davies inherited the City job following Bobby Williamson's sacking on 2 March. But he has so far failed to halt the club's slide, having earned just one win (at home to Darlington over Easter) and a draw (at another promotion-chasing Hereford) from his nine games at the helm.
