Cheltenham have agreed a deal to sign Swindon Town midfielder Michael Pook.
The 23-year-old will sign a one-year contract after playing more than 100 games for the Wiltshire club.
Cheltenham boss Martin Allen told BBC Gloucestershire: "Michael will join us at the start of August, and that means we will have cover in all positions.
"The money we've offered is within our wage budget, which is important, but he certainly hasn't won the lottery by signing for us."
Pook becomes Allen's fourth permanent signing of the summer, after David Hutton (Tottenham Hotspur), Justin Richards (Kidderminster Harriers) and Barry Hayles (Leicester City).
He has also recruited Tom Denton from Huddersfield Town and Oliver Bozanic from Reading on six-month loans.
Cheltenham are now on a pre-season trip to an army camp in Dorset.
Allen said: "The players will be spending a lot of time with the physical training instructors and without the staff around which will be fun.
"We're doing some army exercises, which is mental stuff as well as physical, and the players will get to know each other which with the new boys coming in is very necessary."
