Alan Fettis has plenty of contacts from his playing days
Cheltenham Town's Alan Fettis is preparing to take on a second job at Whaddon Road - as chief scout.
Fettis will remain as goalkeeping coach and take over the scout position from Kieran Scarff, who left in September.
Fettis, who has played at each level of the professional game in England, has contacts to draw on in his new role.
He told BBC Radio Gloucestershire: "It is just about networking and trying to find the best player that is suitable for the team."
The former Northern Ireland international added that scouting was something he "fancied doing".
"Player recruitment is very important," he said. "We are all pushing in the right direction and if we all do that then hopefully my job will be a little bit easier."
