Charlton sign Hammer Matt Fry and Woking's Ross Worner

Charlton Athletic

Charlton have re-signed West Ham defender Matt Fry on a youth loan deal and captured Woking goalkeeper Ross Worner for an undisclosed fee.

Fry, 19, who recently signed a new two-year deal with West Ham, has joined until January.

He will still be available to play for the Premier League outfit's reserve side, and can be recalled by West Ham at any point after the first 28 days.

Worner, 20, made 52 appearances for the Cards in Blue Square South last season.

Fry spent a short spell on loan with the Addicks at the end of last season but did not make an appearance.

The youngster, who can play left-back or centre-half, signed his first professional contract with the Hammers in June 2009.

He joined Gillingham on loan in October and went on to play 13 times before returning to Upton Park in January after a knee injury ruled him out for six weeks.

Worner had been with Woking since the age of 14, and made his first-team debut at 17.

Woking chairman Shahid Azeem said: "Ross has worked hard at his game and been a great ambassador for our club.

"We know he will do really well in the future, as he fully deserves."
