Charlton Athletic have signed Notts County midfielder Johnnie Jackson on a month's loan.
The 27-year-old, is expected to go straight into the Addicks team for Saturday's game at home to Yeovil.
Manager Phil Parkinson told the club's official website: "John can play in midfield or left-back, but I have brought him in to play left-back.
"With the injuries to Grant Basey and Kelly Youga, we have not got a fit recognised left-back."
Jackson previously played for Addicks boss Phil Parkinson, who made him his first signing at Colchester United.
He said: "He is a good footballer, is good on the ball and has a good set-piece delivery - so we're pleased to have him on board."
Jackson began his career at Tottenham where he played 20 Premier League games, but was released in 2006.
After playing for Colchester he signed permanently for Notts County in August.
