Charlton rocked by Holland injury
Matt Holland
Holland joined Charlton from Ipswich in the summer of 2003
Charlton boss Alan Pardew has revealed that midfielder Matt Holland will be sidelined for six weeks with injury.

"We've lost Matty, as it looks like he will have to have a cartilage operation, so that's a blow for us," Pardew told the Addicks' website.

But with Luke Varney out for two to three weeks with an ankle problem, his priority is to sign another striker.

"We've made a couple of enquiries regarding a central midfielder, but nothing concrete," Pardew added.

"Luke's injury has been a blow because he was a big-money signing, but hopefully that'll be a silver lining when he's back in two to three weeks' time."

One new arrival at The Valley has been Chelsea teenager Harry Worley, who is spending a week training with Pardew's side and came on as a substitute in Saturday's 2-1 friendly defeat by Portuguese side Sporting Braga.
