Pardew's contract-signing pen will be put away for the time being |
Charlton boss Alan Pardew has told skipper Matt Holland that negotiations on new contracts have been put on ice until the summer. Holland, 32, is one of nine Addicks players whose contracts are due for review at the end of the season.
Pardew told Charlton's website: "Matt's performances and attitude have been exemplary since I've been here.
"I've made it clear that his situation, like that of eight others, will be reviewed at the end of the season."
Pardew has made Holland captain in the absence of Luke Young and Darren Bent, and the Republic of Ireland international has responded with some stirring displays in midfield.
The Addicks boss is confident Holland will not let the delay on contract talks affect his efforts
Pardew said: "Matt will set a great example, I'm sure his attitude between now and the end of the season will be first-class.
"All those other players out of contract will be able to look at him and follow that example."
