Mowbray says he wants to further strengthen his Celtic squad
Celtic manager Tony Mowbray says the signing of left-back Danny Fox does not signal the end of his spending.
Fox made his debut in the 5-0 victory over Al-Ahly in the Wembley Cup on Friday, after sealing his move from Coventry for an undisclosed fee.
Mowbray has already signed striker Marc-Antoine Fortune and midfielder Landry N'Guemo from Nancy.
"I don't think the summer spending is over; there are potential ins and outs," the Celtic manager said.
Celtic host Moscow Dinamo on Champions League qualifying duty on 29 July and Fox, 23, will be able to feature in the crucial double header.
And Mowbray is keen to further bolster his squad ahead of the Scottish Premier League opener against Aberdeen at Pittodrie on 15 August.
"I've always known we have to create some money to spend some money," he said.
"The great benefit for me is that we're in a position where we can spend some before we have to get some back in. I'm sure we will because we have players that will be attractive to other clubs."
Celtic's latest recruit Fox will vie with Lee Naylor for the left-back role and the Celtic manager knows the former Wolves defender has received criticism from sections of the club's support in the past.
"I'm aware of negativity towards Lee from certain elements," he said.
"Common sense suggests it will be a very good year for him because if he allows his contract to run out he will want suitors from good sides."
Paul Hartley, Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink and Shunsuke Nakamura all left the club in the summer.
And captain Stephen McManus will miss the start of the new season as he battles back from a knee injury.
