Brown will be a frustrated spectator at the final Old Firm game at Ibrox
Celtic's Scott Brown says missing the final Old Firm game of the season through suspension is a "nightmare".
The 23-year-old midfielder exceeded the 18-point threshold when he was booked for a foul on Tam Scobbie in the recent 4-0 win over Falkirk.
Brown, one of four nominees for the PFA Scotland Player of the Year award, will miss the 9 May clash at Ibrox.
"It's a bit of a nightmare because I've been done for what I did last season," the former Hibs player said.
Brown was booked 14 times last season but the combative midfielder, who earned his sixth yellow during this campaign for his foul on Scobbie, has been working hard to reduce his foul count.
"You think 'surely to God, that was last season and it's over and done with and you start afresh this season', but it doesn't work like that," he said.
"I spoke to a few of the lads and they said that it might change next season but we will see how it goes.
"I knew if I picked up another booking I would be banned. It was 10 or 11 games since I had picked up my last one so I was trying not to miss-time my tackles.
"That has been hard but I have been tackling quite well - which is a change."
