Larsson to play O'Donnell tribute

Henrik Larsson in action for Helsingborgs

Henrik Larsson will once again wear the green and white hoops of Celtic.

The Swede will join up with other members of Celtic's 1998 league winning side to pay tribute to Phil O'Donnell, who died earlier this season.

A match against Motherwell's 1991 Scottish Cup winners will take place on 25 May at Celtic Park.

Midfielder O'Donnell died aged 35 while playing for the Fir Park outfit but was also part of the Celtic team who won the Scottish title in 1998.

The 36-year-old Larsson, who now plays for Swedish club Helsingborgs, left the Glasgow club to join Barcelona in 2004 after seven prolific years at Cetic Park.

He will be joined in the Celtic team by Paul Lambert, Morten Wieghorst, Craig Burley, Stephane Mahe and Alan Stubbs.

Motherwell's side for the match at Parkhead will include Dougie Arnott, Stevie Kirk and Chris McCart.

Celtic will be bossed by Wim Jansen, the Dutchman who engineered the title triumph as the Glasgow outfit ended nine years of Rangers domination in the Scottish Premier League.

Tommy McLean, who steered Motherwell to their cup triumph, will take charge of the Steelmen.

Funds raised from the match will go to the O'Donnell Family Trust and a range of charities.
