Strachan has made an excellent start to Celtic's SPL title defence |
Celtic manager Gordon Strachan was happy to come away from Ibrox with a point after a 1-1 draw with Rangers. Celtic looked set for a win when Thomas Gravesen put them ahead before Brahim Hemdani equalised in the 88th minute.
"It was a great game played in tough conditions. Both teams had a real go to try and get the win," said Strachan.
"I felt we should have had a penalty and we edged the first half, but all credit to Rangers for their comeback - their big players responded."
The draw keeps Celtic 16 points ahead of their great rivals at the top of the Scottish Premier League.
And Strachan did reflect that, for more luck in front of goal, the Hoops could have secured victory.
"We could have finished the game off at the start of the second half when we had a couple of chances, " he added.

"However, we've all seen a fantastic game of football played by two teams in the correct spirit.
"It's hard to believe that we didn't get a penalty in the first half when Neil Lennon was fouled by Stevie Smith - even the Rangers fans knew it."
Club captain Neil Lennon emerged content that Celtic did enough to take a draw at the home of their big rivals.
"We're happy with a point as Rangers stretched us and created a lot of chances," he told BBC Sport Scotland.
"At the moment we're comfortable with a good lead at the top of the table.
"Maybe if we had lost today people might have started asking questions of us.
"I thought we should have been given a penalty when I was fouled, but overall it's a good result for us.
"It's been a great season so far for everyone at the club, and it was important we kept strong at a difficult place to visit."
