Carlisle boss Greg Abbott demands response after defeat
Abbott's side were unbeaten in seven league games before Saturday's loss
Carlisle United manager Greg Abbott has urged his players to put their first defeat of the season behind them ahead of Tuesday's trip to Hartlepool.
The Cumbrians lost 2-0 at Bournemouth on Saturday and Abbott believes a good performance is the minimum expectation for the midweek game at Victoria Park.
"We need to go and put on a display," Abbott told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"If we can use this as the blip then go on another seven match unbeaten run then everything is happy days again."
Meanwhile Abbott has revealed his concerns surrounding the relative lack of goals from his side in recent matches.
Carlisle have scored just two goals in their last five matches since the 4-1 thrashing of MK Dons at Brunton Park in August.
"Scoring goals is something that you have to work on isn't it, we don't want to be doing that too often," Abbott added.
"We have been reasonably tight at the other end and have not conceded too many.
"Bournemouth, certainly after they got their goal they looked like they had got their head of steam up.
"We did well to contain at that end but we need to find some goals."
