Abbott is convinced he has full support of the club's players.
Carlisle United manager Greg Abbott is adamant he has the support of his players in lifting the club out of trouble in League One this season.
United have slipped into the relegation zone with 11 points from 13 games but Abbott believes the whole club is geared towards turning things around.
"If I didn't think the players were with me then I wouldn't last five minutes," he told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"The fact that they are means we have a great chance. Carlisle is united."
Saturday's 3-1 defeat by Yeovil Town at Huish Park was the club's seventh league game without a win, with the last victory being a 3-0 home victory against Tranmere on 5 September.
Meanwhile Abbott's future as Carlisle boss has been questioned by supporters, despite backing from the club's board after the Yeovil defeat.
The former Leeds youth and reserve team boss will celebrate a year in the post on 3 November, having taken over from former boss John Ward in 2008 and he says he is confident he has the character and temperament to revive the club's fortunes.
"You always feel a bit of pressure. This is a great week for me because I'm great when my back's against the wall.
"I was a fighter as a player, I'm a fighter as a character and we're fighting at the moment. I'm leaning towards one thing at the moment and that's we will win Saturday. We will win the game Saturday and if we don't then I'll come under pressure from all sorts of different people.
"I can't guarantee a win, but we'll be having a right go at it."
