Carlisle complete double signing

Ian Harte
Harte has won 64 caps for the Republic of Ireland and played in a World Cup

Carlisle have completed the double signing of unattached defender Ian Harte and Scunthorpe midfielder Ian Morris on loan, both until the summer.

Republic of Ireland international Harte, 31, has been a free agent since leaving Blackpool in February.

Boss Greg Abbott told the club website: "Ian is very experienced and that's probably what we need at the moment."

Morris, 22, will stand in for injured Cumbrians captain Paul Thirlwell until the end of the season.

Like Harte, Morris was a trainee with Leeds before joining Scunthorpe in 2006.

Abbott added: "Ian has an energy and a desire to play and I think he will fit into the way that we like to do things in midfield nicely."
