Carlisle United manager Greg Abbott says he is hopeful of making his first signing of the January transfer window before the weekend.
Abbott is hoping to add several new signings to his squad this month and is confident of a deal soon.
"We might be close to a deal. Put it this way, I'd be disappointed if it didn't happen now," Abbott told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"I'm certainly hopeful that something might be done by the weekend."

"It's amazing, I look on the websites for my transfer targets now because they seem to have them before me." he joked.
"I do get frustrated that names get out but it happens and you just have to deal it."
Abbott also revealed that he came close to completing a deal for an un-named player earlier this week.
"My head was spinning with the amount of phone-calls we made both in and out."
Abbott is also hoping that top scorer Danny Graham will not be affected by the interest from League One rivals Huddersfield Town.
"We'll see how he is. If his focus is right then there we'll be no problem." he said.
