Mark Hudson is set for a Cardiff City recall for their Championship clash at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.
The Bluebirds skipper has been out for three months following ankle surgery and is available for boss Dave Jones after he returned to full training.
But the defender is set to be on the bench as Cardiff have conceded just six goals in an eight-match unbeaten run.
"Our run has put us in a good position so it's a good time for me to be coming back into contention," Hudson said.
Michael Chopra, Joe Ledley and Kelvin Etuhu are also set to be passed fit after coming off in their draw with Reading.
Striker Chopra has had treatment on a neck problem while Wales midfielder Ledley and on-loan Manchester City attacker Etuhu are okay after being substituted in Saturday's goalless draw.
So Jones, who has suffered huge injury crises this season, is set to have a virtually full-strength squad for Saturday's trip to Loftus Road.
Only midfielder Gavin Rae, who is out after undergoing ankle surgery, of the first-team regulars unavailable.
"It is a great to be back training again with the lads after the torment of being sitting on the sidelines for so long," Hudson said.
The 28-year-old centre-back last played in Cardiff's 4-2 FA Cup fourth round win against Leicester City on 23 January.
But Cardiff centre-back duo Darcy Blake and Anthony Gerrard have won plaudits for back-to-back clean sheets against play-off rivals Nottingham Forest and Reading - just the second time Jones' men have enjoyed successive shutouts this season.
Cardiff's eight-match unbeaten run has catapulted Jones' team to fourth in the Championship and victory at QPR would secure a play-off spot.
But QPR, who are four places above the drop-zone, are unbeaten in their last six home games and Cardiff have only won twice against the Londoners in their last nine games.
