Manager Dave Jones has seen his Cardiff side fall down the table |
Cardiff City chairman Peter Ridsdale has said Dave Jones is the best man to be manager, despite saying last week that his job could be under threat. The Bluebirds are currently on a six-game losing streak and are only out of the Championship relegation zone due to goal difference.
"I always take the view with any member of staff that if you hadn't got them, would you hire them?" Ridsdale said.
"And if we had a vacancy today and Dave Jones was available, I'd hire him."
Cardiff are back in action this Saturday after the international break, with a midday kick-off against high-flying Ipswich.

But Ridsdale has backed Jones to turn things around on the pitch, saying the former Wolves and Southampton boss has done well on a shoe-string budget.
"He's a very good manager, everybody forgets that," Ridsdale added.
"In the Championship there's no money around and Dave's had to sell 14m worth of players in two seasons, but he's got on with the job and hasn't moaned.
"You cannot keep firing managers left, right and centre - you've got to give them time to sort things out."
