Wright has a vast amount of Premiership experience |
Cardiff City have moved to solve their full-back shortage by signing veteran Alan Wright from Sheffield United. Wright, 35, has joined the Championship leaders on a loan deal until 1 January.
The former Aston Villa stalwart, who has played just twice for Sheffield United this season, was made available for a loan by the Blades this week.
Wright signed for Leeds United on a one-month loan deal in October, but the left-back returned to Bramall Lane after playing just one game.
Cardiff lost Kerrea Gilbert, on a season-long loan from Arsenal, to a long-term injury after the left-back dislocated his shoulder in training at the beginning of November.
The Bluebirds then failed to extend the loan deal of right-back Watford's James Chambers, leaving them with Kevin McNaughton as the only senior full-back in the squad.
