Cardiff boss Dave Jones is delighted to still have Cameron Jerome after the January transfer window, but admits he is surprised at the lack of bids. The Bluebirds valued their 19-year-old star striker at 3.5m, but there were no takers for the 16-goal Jerome.
"No one was going to meet the price we'd set on Cameron," Jones said.
"But I don't know why - when you look at what's been sold around and what Cameron has been doing, I think we'd underpriced him to be fair."
The only firm offer came in the shape of a 2m bid from rivals Sheffield United, but that was swiftly rejected by the Bluebirds.
Jones has taken Cardiff to seventh in the Championship but saw his side held 1-1 at home by Millwall on Tuesday night.
As well as Jerome's goal threat, a chief component has been the midfield guile of Jason Koumas.
The Wales international is on a season-long loan from West Brom, but could have departed Ninian Park if the Baggies had decided to sell Koumas.
"From day one Jason has told me he wants to stay here, he wants to see out the season," Jones said.
"He's got his life, his football career back on track and he wants to continue doing that before looking at things at the end of the season."
