West Brom prepared to sell Koumas
Cardiff and Wales midfielder Jason Koumas
West Brom manager Bryan Robson has made it clear that midfielder Jason Koumas can leave the club for the right price.

Koumas, 26, recently urged Cardiff to turn his season-long loan at Ninian Park into a permanent deal.

And Robson said: "There has always been a price there to be paid regarding Jason and, if anyone wants to pay it, we will take the money.

"Have Cardiff or anyone made an offer? I'm not really sure. You'd have to ask our chairman Jeremy Peace."

Robson put Koumas on the transfer list last May and Koumas has already made it clear he is not interested in playing for the Baggies again.

"I've got three years left on my contract at West Brom, but I don't want to go back there," said Koumas.

"I'm hoping Cardiff can find the money to sign me. I'm really enjoying my football. I think the team's got a good chance of finishing in the top six."

Cardiff have the right of first refusal on a transfer deal for Koumas when he becomes available in the January transfer window.

But the cash-strapped Bluebirds could still be priced out of the market by clubs alerted by Koumas' rich vein of form.

Cardiff manager Dave Jones has said he wants Koumas to sign a permanent deal - and the player himself says he already owes Jones a big debt of gratitude.

Koumas, who he scored his eighth goal of the season in last Saturday's 1-0 win at Leeds, revealed: "He's probably the best manager I've played under.

"He's getting my old confidence back. He tells me to go out and play, and that means a lot.

"Why would I want to leave Cardiff when I'm enjoying it so much."
