Simon Russell to wait on Cambridge United contract
Russell has featured in U's last two games following an ankle injury
Cambridge United midfielder Simon Russell says he has yet to decide where his future lies beyond this season.
The 25-year-old has an option to extend his deal into next term, but will wait until the club appoints a new boss before making a commitment.
He told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "It's about waiting and seeing, obviously there's going to be a new manger.
"I have been in the situation before where a new manager has come in and I had to leave."
Russell, who has scored eight times in 48 games since arriving from Tamworth last February, added: "I don't want to make decisions before we see what's happening."
Since Martin Ling's departure as boss in early February the team has been managed by academy chief Jez George.
And the caretaker manager has opted to use a number of the club's youngsters, something which Russell says has made him a more vocal player.
"I've actually noticed myself talking more to the younger players," he added.
"They might tell me I'm talking rubbish but I think as long as you're shouting, encouraging them and telling them were they've gone wrong in the right way, it can only help them.
"But the young lads who are playing can do a great job and can only get better."
