Cambridge United assistant player-coach Paul Carden has said he is keen for the club to add to their coaching staff.
Manager Martin Ling recently revealed that the club are on the hunt for an addition to their coaching set-up.
Carden told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "We spoke about it a number of times last season as we both felt a bit stretched.
"We need another pair of hands on the coaching side as I'm involved in training as a player."
Carden has combined playing with the assistant manager's role for the past two seasons.
He initially worked under long-time friend Gary Brabin with coach Stuart Bimson providing additional assistance.

However, Bimson left the club shortly before Ling's arrival in August 2009 and was never replaced.
Meanwhile, the U's have offered contracts to six of their first team squad and expect to have their responses by Monday.
Carden admits he expects other clubs to show interest in their star men.
"The players we've offered contracts to have played well throughout the season and there's bound to be interest from opposition managers," he said.
"We've just got to keep our fingers crossed that the lads want to continue with us, but if not then we move on."
The U's are expected to announce which players have chosen to sign new terms at Monday's 'Walk For Change' charity match.
