Cambridge United striker Danny Crow has thanked fans for their strong backing in recent matches.
Crow, 24, has scored 16 goals in 36 league appearances.
He told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "Last year I didn't really show people what I'm about, so it's nice the fans are warming to me.
"I learnt a lot last year and maybe I was a little overconfident at first but I always knew it would come right in the end."
Crow joined the U's in September 2008 after having his contract at Peterborough cancelled.
He struggled to establish himself under former manager Gary Brabin, but has flourished since the arrival of Martin Ling.
"I'm enjoying the pressure of being the man who gets the goals as that's how it was for me at Peterborough," Crow said.
"Things just keep falling to me at the moment and it's nice to prove a few people wrong."
Crow's never-say-die attitude along with his goals has endeared him to the U's faithful despite his Peterborough connections.
He is out-of-contract in the summer, but is in no hurry to leave the Abbey.
"We've all got hopes and dreams of playing as high as you can and I would like to do that with Cambridge," he said.
Crow is confident the U's will be in a position to challenge for promotion next season.
"We've got a very strong squad now, but we've got some new faces in and it's gone well," he said.
"We're kicking on and everyone is pushing for contracts and trying to impress."
Meanwhile, winger Scotty Neilson has signed an extension to his loan deal from Bradford which will keep him with the U's until the summer.
