Crow hopes to hit U's scoring run

Cambridge United striker Danny Crow wants to go on a goal run after netting for the first time since arriving at the Abbey Stadium in September.

The 22-year-old scored Cambridge's second in the 2-2 draw at Forest Green last Thursday.

He told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "It's nice to get a goal for Cambridge after having a couple of chances.

"I'm getting my fitness back, and with a goal, it's off my shoulders now and hopefully more will come."

He added: "I go through little spells, but the main thing for me is playing well and working hard.

"If I do that then the chances will come and I'll create opportunities for myself and others."

With U's striker Lee McEvilly serving a three-match ban, Crow is hoping to get another chance to add to his tally when the U's take on Boston United in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round on Saturday.

"I'm not going to say I'll score as many as Rooney is now, but when you've scored one it gives you more confidence," he added.

"Hopefully they'll just keep coming and we keep creating a lot of chances."
