Cambridge United defender Adam Davies faces surgery after suffering a knee injury in the game against Plymouth. Davies, 20, missed much of last season with a cruciate injury to the same knee and lasted only 12 minutes of the friendly against Argyle.
But the latest setback is not a repeat of that injury.
Physio Greg Reid told the club website: "He has torn the lateral cartilage and lateral collateral ligament and will undergo surgery in the next few days."
