Cambridge United boss Jimmy Quinn has welcomed defender Adam Davies' return to first-team action after nearly a year on the sidelines. The Wales Under-21 international, 20, was injured in last August's Conference game against Dagenham & Redbridge.
After two operations on his anterior cruciate knee ligaments and cartilage, he played 45 minutes in Tuesday's friendly for the U's against St Neots.
"It's like signing a new player," Quinn told the club's website.
"He's a great lad and he's worked very hard.
"We've got to treat him with kid gloves a little bit, and he's still got to build on his fitness levels, but I'm sure he enjoyed the match."
