| Cambridge United defender Adam Davies has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury. Davies, 19, was injured in the U's recent game against Dagenham and Redbridge and underwent initial surgery to repair torn cartilage on Wednesday. The Wales under-21 international faces a second operation to reconstruct the knee, which also sustained anterior cruciate ligament damage. U's physio Greg Reid told the club's website: "He won't play this season." Cambridge defender Matt Bloomer is training with his old club Grimsby during the week, the Mariners have announced - but only to save on travelling time.
