Defender Michael Morrison has returned to Cambridge United after Newcastle boss Glenn Roeder opted not to pursue his interest in the 18-year-old. Morrison spent ten days training with Newcastle but was not offered a deal.
"Glenn said they don't think he's quite ready and it would be too big a gamble for them at the moment," Cambridge boss Rob Newman told the club's website.
"He's back with us and he's been invited to another Premiership club on trial, which is testament to the lad."
