Bury snap up Manchester City youngster James Poole

Bury

Bury manager Alan Knill has moved to boost their League Two promotion bid by signing Manchester City's James Poole on loan until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old winger has just signed a one-year contract extension at Eastlands and hopes to make his league debut with the Shakers.

He goes straight into Bury's squad for Saturday's clash with Aldershot.

Knill told the Bury website: "He is one of those that can play all over and is a really good footballer."

Poole told the Manchester City website: "Playing in League Two should give me some great experience and I'd love to help Bury get promoted.

"Signing the contract extension is a big relief for me as I wasn't sure what was going to happen, so now I'm floating on air.

"Both my grandmothers died recently and if I score for Bury I'm going to dedicate it to them."

Poole joins a Bury side that has slipped out of the League Two automatic promotion places following a run of six games without a win.
