Bury keep Bennett for the season

Alan Knill
Knill is delighted that Wolves have let Bennett stay beyond January

Elliott Bennett will stay at Bury until the end of the season after the 20-year-old's loan deal from Championship side Wolves was extended.

The midfielder was due to return in January but Bury boss Alan Knill told BBC Radio Manchester: "Mick McCarthy is happy for him to stay with us.

"It's fantastic from Wolves. They were here last weekend to watch him."

Bennett has started all 24 games for Bury so far this season, scoring one goal at Dagenham and Redbridge.
