Burton fixture backlog ludicrous - Paul Peschisolido

Our season has come to a complete stall since before Christmas

Burton Albion manager Paul Peschisolido has described his side's fixture backlog as "ludicrous".

Saturday's game at Bury was the latest to be postponed and the Brewers face 24 games in 96 days between now and the end of the League Two season.

The Bury game is now scheduled for Tuesday, 12 April - which was the last free midweek date until the final week.

"I can't believe it. I can't remember anything like this - it's ludicrous," Peschisolido told BBC Radio Derby.

Burton, whose league fixture list has been decimated by the cold weather and their FA Cup run, have also now slipped into the League Two relegation zone.

But they have at least three games in hand on all the teams in the division, and as many as eight in hand on some sides.

They could climb into the play-offs with a good run.

Peschisolido added: "We just cannot get started. Our season has come to a complete stall since before Christmas - we can't get a run of games together.

"It only seems to be just our games that get called off! But we're not going to moan, we'll just get on with it."

The Brewers begin their hectic run of fixtures on Friday when they entertain Chesterfield.
