Burton Albion boss Paul Peschisolido targets promotion
Peschisolido is in optimistic mood for his second season as a manager
Burton Albion manager Paul Peschisolido believes promotion from League Two is a realistic target this season.
"I think we should be challenging," Peschisolido told BBC Radio Derby. "We'll set our sights on promotion."
The Canadian is convinced the strength in depth of his squad this time around will make the difference to Burton's promotion aspirations.
"We've assembled a very, good squad, with strength in depth, athleticism and quality all around the pitch," he said.
"I don't want to get too carried away but I'm delighted by the way it looks."
Peschisolido has added players in most positions, including much-needed experience with midfielder Adam Bolder and central defenders Darren Moore and Nathan Stanton.
Also coming in are goalkeeper Adam Legzdins, midfielders Lewis Young, Jack Dyer and Garyn Preen and striker James Ellison, giving Peschisolido competition in every position.
And defender Aaron Webster has renewed his contract after a summer of fitness work, while long-term injury concerns Richard Jackson, Ryan Austin and Keith Gilroy are all nearing a return to action.
Burton kick off their season on 7 August at home to newly promoted Oxford United.
